Trust and business verification
We recommend dealing only with businesses that display an Intwined verification badge. Check which credentials were verified before you pay.
We check for concerns
We review business listings and reports for signs of scams or misleading information, including businesses without verification. Scams, fraud and impersonation are not allowed on Intwined.
We may ask for supporting information, investigate reports or restrict a listing where the evidence supports action. A report or missing verification does not, by itself, prove a business is dishonest. Reviews do not mean every business is checked continuously or that every problem will be detected.
What our badges mean
- Registration verified: an Intwined administrator has checked the business registration details and recorded that check.
- VAT verified: an Intwined administrator has checked the VAT details and recorded that check. VAT verification alone does not verify business registration.
- Registration & VAT verified: both of these credential checks have been recorded by Intwined.
- Not yet verified: neither credential check has been recorded. This is not an accusation of fraud. A sole trader may not have a company registration number, and not every business is VAT registered.
Verification is not a guarantee of honest conduct, quality or a safe transaction. Badges apply only to the details stated. They are not a background check, trade licence, endorsement of a business's work, payment protection or a promise of a refund.
Publishing a storefront, automatic onboarding approval, a verified email, submitting a South African ID, customer reviews or a Featured placement does not earn a verification badge. ID format and checksum validation is not an independent identity or Home Affairs check. Featured means promoted placement, not verified status.
Before you agree or pay
- Open the business's storefront and read the verification information. If a check is missing or unclear, ask Intwined support before proceeding.
- Confirm who you are dealing with, their contact details and any licences or qualifications relevant to the work.
- Get a written quote with the full price, scope, delivery dates and the business's refund and cancellation terms.
- Confirm payment details directly with the business using a contact you have independently checked. Be cautious about urgent deposits or unexpected changes to bank details.
- Keep your quote, messages and payment records. Never share passwords, card security codes or one-time passwords.
The agreement for goods or services is between you and the supplying business. Read how responsibilities are separated. This guidance does not remove your legal rights or Intwined's own applicable responsibilities.
Report a concern
Use Report this business on the business's storefront. You do not need to sign in. Give factual details about what happened; do not include full ID numbers, passwords or banking credentials. A report goes to Intwined for review and is not a public verdict.
If money has been lost or your bank details may be compromised, contact your bank promptly and consider reporting suspected fraud to the police.

For business owners
Keep your business details accurate and contact Intwined support to discuss a credential check or correct a verification concern. Supplying a number does not automatically verify it. Do not send full ID numbers or identity-document copies in a public report or ordinary support message.
